Dark Angel

Dark Angel

A Poem by Lydia Thacker

His rich dark eyes have captured mine and I find myself at loss.
I'm deep within a river of red, a flood I cannot cross.

My heart, it swells within my throat as dreams begin to soar.
It pounds his song deep in my chest.  Its call I can't ignore.

My voice, it sings in harmony, a twining sharp contrast,
wrapping around his melody, like a vine, and holding fast.

Strong arms slip around me, making my heart complete;
my entire soul is giving in, but doesn't know defeat.

My dark angel holds me close; our bodies become one.
Again, I find that I am whole; my life has just begun.
