Sweet Baritone

Sweet Baritone

A Poem by Lydia Thacker

I like to imagine your laughter,
the timbre of soft baritone.
I dream of a voice like no other
which sings me a tune of its own.

The dulcet tones of your writing,
straightforward, but ringing so true,
they always leave me quite speechless
and wanting to know more of you.

I enjoy our easy friendship
and this I have to say:
I find that I dislike the silence
when either of us must go away.

And so, Good Knight, I sing to you
with my tune so akin to your own,
in hope that my simple harmony
lends a smile to your sweet baritone.
