Fantasy

Fantasy

A Poem by Lydia Thacker

Distance and time
come between
what could be.

Sweet love lingers,
refuses to acknowledge
it cannot be.

Temptation calls,
"Come;
live in fantasy."

Harsh truth
breaks hearts;
deny it.

Reality dawns;
waken from the dream.
Tears drench cheeks.
