Lightning dances 
on the hills around me.

Please, Lord, 
let it rain.

Help me 
to wash away
the dirt and grime
with which
my life has become
corroded.

Soothe my 
bruised spirit;

help me to sing again
the song
of a life I love.

Let me once more
see the brightness
of your stars

beyond the darkness
with which my eyes
have become  clouded.

Please, Lord,
let it rain.
