Friend in NeedA Poem by Lydia Thacker
In the darkness, I knew you;
now our black fades to gray. Tender kisses harvested, you always walk away This flaw of omission lingers in the air, like a delicate wisp of fog -barely there. You conquer my weakness and just throw me aside? Or do you merely crave the shadows in which you can hide? Don't think the night's falling will bring you back to me, so if you come looking, an empty bench you'll see. I don't want to be your sometimes and have you fade with each light to appear again expecting love when day gives way to night. © 2011 Lydia Thacker |
