Torn

Torn

A Poem by Lydia Thacker

I'm torn but shall be mended -
Hopes soar with your dark eyes.
Dreams tremble in your presence
as we drop all pretense and disguise.

Tender whispers, stolen moments,
slowly turn to something more,
for your arms, they wrap around me
and your whispers, they implore

Let the world revolve around us -
in both light and darkness mete
the delicately flowering fondness
which makes each kiss so sweet.
