Organic Addiction

Organic Addiction

A Poem by Lydia Thacker

You forge my organic addiction
With your tones of molten gold,
Gleaming metallic notes of silver
 - hardened, embossed, and cold,

Tempered like its artisan,
Gleaming filings, burnished steel,
In your element with a cutting edge,
Branded irons for you to wield,

Your song, a unique alloy,
Played in solid baritone
On a cleverly artificed instrument
In a tone which is truly your own.
