Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Lydia Thacker
"

Written to my sister on the 4th anniversary of her death, 2-24-1992. I was 10.

"
So much sorrow in one small word
Goodbye, so hard to bear
My life is unimaginable
Without you standing there

I shed a tear at the word
That final soft adieu
A tribute to the friendship
That I once shared with you

It's a never-ending word, that last goodbye
A sound so full of pain
When I think that you and I
May never meet again

If ever we should meet again
Would you still recall
This person who was once your friend
When you were very small.
