Memoriam

A Poem by Lydia Thacker

Beneath the small flags you lie
Beneath the earth's brown dust
Who for our nation bravely died
Doing as you felt you must

Though 'tis long you may be gone
Long lives your legacy
You - a soldier standing strong
That we could all live free
