Allegory

Allegory

A Poem by Araby
"

Airport poetry

"

Taking every waking moment

to store for stories

without purpose despite

defining worthless

in a post-capitalist apocalypse

the evangelicals are

talking

            talking

                        talking

while we walk a path untheorized

the philosophically inclined say

“it’s a fine time to die”

and

“it’s better to drink wine than whine”

when every step you take they deem a crime

The clock strikes zero hour

Snowman lost his perfect

people

They wandered into the cave

to join the unsung heroes.
