MY EXPIRIENCES WITH THE PARANORMAL

"

Considering it is Halloween today I thought I should write a blog, about my paranormal experiences. ..

My childhood house which is in Nottinghamshire ( In a village called Milton) was built in the Georgian era. It was the oldest house in the village. The house itself was beautiful, with beams in every room! and a well in the garden. Originally the house was a farm-house.

When I reached the age of twelve I noticed things about the house, that I had never noticed before. Foot-steps coming from the landing when nobody was there. My name being called when none of my family had called me. One of the most overpowering feelings that I experienced when I was living there, was the feeling of being watched constantly. The feeling of someone or something following me around. Finally I discovered what was going on!

One day I was in the study ( which is near the oldest part of the house) I was upset because a family friend had died. A strange atmosphere started to engulf the room in which I was in. Looking up I saw a transparent figure standing in the door-way looking at me. I was not scared as some of you may think. I was curious and fascinated. However it dawned on me that I would have to leave the room at some point. In the end I just walked past the figure not looking back. Not sure if I should tell my siblings. I was the youngest out of three children.

Ever since that incident the apparitions of this womanly figure became more prominent. On a daily basis I would see her. The first few sightings that I had of her, only happened at night-time when I was in my room. Occasionally I would wake up at the same time ( Midnight) once or twice a week. It was almost as if someone wanted me to wake up. When I would wake up I would then see the figure of the woman walking across my room and into the wall again.

Sometimes I would hear people talking downstairs in a hurried manner, when I knew for a fact that everyone living had gone to bed.

Being a thirteen year old girl I of course told my family. My mother then told me of an experience that she had before I had been born. Like me she had seen the figure of a woman going up the stairs. Another incident she had was when she was taking the dogs for a walk ( The public path that was near the house, used to belong to our house back in the olden days.) While walking my mother noticed a boy who looked very much like my brother, sitting on the gate. The boy then proceeded to cry out for his "Mummy". However as my mother moved closer to the boy he vanished into thin air. Another incident happened when I was fourteen years of age. By this time I had called the figure " Lucy" and I was still seeing her.

One day while in the conservatory my mother, noticed a man in the garden. She was shocked to discover that he was only visible from the waist up. After that she only saw him one more time in the field near the public pathway. Unlike previous years poltergeist activity had  started to happen. It is said that spirits can use the energy from us to harness their own energy. I believe that this was the case within our haunting. We as a family were going through a very difficult and depressing time at that moment. And unlike before I had started to have recurring dreams.

In my dreams I was in bed. There would always be this terrible dreading atmosphere that was around me. And then I would get thrown about in the air and twirled around in the air. It was like someone was controlling me and I could not do anything about it. The dream seemed so real it was almost like it had happened. I would always wake up frightened and my heartbeat racing. I froze and sometimes I would call out to my parents because I was scared.

Occasionally when there was no answer I would risk walking along the hallway to get to there room.

Every time I walked down the hallway at night-time Lucy would be there. I had become scared of her presence and I didn't know what to do to help her. The hall-way would be pitch black and Lucy would always walk behind me when I went to my parents room. In these incidents I could not see her but I could sense her presence. Her presence had become daunting and frightening.

At school I was dubbed the " crazy girl" and the loner. I was bullied at school because of my spiritual interests. I didn't hang out with many people. You would find me in a library on m lunch break reading about history. Even my family did not believe me about Lucy. It was very frustrating but then one day Lucy decided to make herself known.

In the hall of our house we had a grandfather clock, that could only be wound up by a person. One night around nine o clock I was walking to the bathroom. My step father then called out to me, asking if I had wound up the clock as he had just heard it being wound. I said that I hadn't and it couldn't of been anyone else because my mother was in bed.

The following activity which happened was very suttle. One night I was getting my uniform out for the following school-day. I laid my socks on the chair with the rest of my clothes. I was about to put my shoes out when I noticed the socks had vanished. There was not a trace of them anywhere! It was mind-blowing at the time. I began to doubt my own sanity. I decided that the best action to take was to talk to Lucy. " If that's you then please may you put my socks back" I called out looking around my bed-room to see if I could pick up on anything. In less than five minutes my socks were back on the chair again!

Everything that I am writing about is real readers! And if you want to validate my stories ask one of my friends who were there when activity happened. While I began to grow up I was so used to the paranormal  It didn't bother me. It made me delve into researching spirits and hauntings even more. I was stuck in a strange portal which not many go to, unless they have lived in a haunted location. Doors started to open by themselves, and glasses started to move on there own. Lucy would sit in the chair at the far end of the dining room, while me and my family were having Sunday lunch.

I realized that me staring at Lucy while with my family, started to put them on edge. My siblings made fun of me of course! And they were right too. After all would you really believe that your house was haunted when you could not see anything?

if your interested in this story tell me and I will write the other half !!! x

I've always been fascinated by the world of the spirits. part of me rejects it as I've never witnessed anything out of the ordinary except in books and movies and part of me is attracted to that world of ghosts, hauntings, possessions or the "ouija" board activities.
your story grabbed me and wouldn't let go.
thx for sharing.

Sounds like a real haunting to me. You might be a Sensitive, like a light Medium. Someone who can feel and see apparitions more than other people can. People and objects can be haunted as well as places. This is a really good ghost story!

Extremely interesting. I think this story is easy to relate to, the insecurities of one who has had an experience and knows nobody will believe them. I know I've had my share. It is embarrassing in a way, but sometimes you cannot help the things that happen, just like you can't help the way the rain always seems to come on your day off work, or how tornadoes and earthquakes come and go almost impassively. I'm ranting. Good story. Write more. Thanks ;)
