A Poem by ArabellaMortimerHendry

Spirituality. A word that has so many different meanings for people.  For me it means that there is a Balance. A balance between life and inner peace. To see past the point of solid matter and see into the souls of people you meet.  I first started meditating to find that " inner world where I could accept what happens and deal with it." It may sound "Hippy" but meditation really does, give you a new perspective of life. You realize how beautiful the world is. I would describe it as being reborn. However you can only reach this feeling, when you actually start meditating.

People meditate in different ways. Personally I close my eyes, and imagine that im rising higher and higher from my bed/room/garden bench. I then picture angels around me. Like im in a garden of kind heavenly spirits. I don't sense any bad around me. I try and listen in depth to the bird sounds around me, if im in my garden. As this helps me get more into my meditation.

Another factor that sums up "spirituality" is Love. Love is the most strongest emotion in the human soul. It what makes us human because it brings out the compassion

in us.  When I meditate it opens up the "real world " to me. I can appreciate the

Love God put into the earth. and how each individual colour on a leaf is unique.

I find it such a shame how the majority of the world, will never know this "Peace"

Because it is such a beautiful peace to know. Another thing I find useful when im

meditating is relaxation music. I mostly find this lovely and beautiful music on

youtube.

When I was growing up, I felt an urge to discover more about myself. Who I really

was and what am I meant to do in life. since meditating it has given me a more

defined outlook and plan of the future. It has in a way, made me more spiritually

stronger, and stronger also as a person.

But you don't have to meditate to find inner peace. Inner peace can be found in so many other ways. such as just being yourself around people you meet daily. Not being afraid

to share your views about the world, and staying true to yourself. Sometimes you just

got to take a breather from life in general, and see it from up above.

one of the sayings I say is " You got to stand on the edge of life, to get a full perspective

of it" I suppose to an extent. everyone is the world has encountered or been involved in

a situation, where they need to take a step back, to see the bigger picture.

an example of this is, Being in London Victoria. Every single individual in that building

is "glued to there headphones or there mobiles" some other people are ordering

tickets from a machine. Everyone pushes past people in a hurry. Never thinking

how much of a connection they have to the stranger they are pushing past. They

are more than likely giving off the same "energy force/vibe" out into the station.

Yet they never think of that. You see people the same age as you wearing the latest

fashion trend and playing on the most recent gadget. They laugh as they walk in

a "robotic" line with there friends. each holding various drinks in there hands. COLA.

SPRITE.MONSTER.RED BULL.

Now if you see the bigger picture that im trying to tell you about. well done. if not

let me explain. The human race our categorized as a group. Under the government's

"watchful eye/ so called power" Every day we wake up on a mattress (solid matter)

which is from the local bed store, down the road. The road which it is on, was made

by the local builders of the county. Those builders wake up for there shift and put

the appliances' on in the kitchen. To make a cup of tea.

The mug they use. is from a day out at "Harrods". The reason why Harrods provided

that mug was because it was a "marketing ploy" a "souvenir" to get more people

coming to there store. A store which is a solid matter of concrete building. among

another bunch of buildings. Coincidently the objects they sell in there stores are

mainly the same. The clothes/necklaces etc they sell are from a totally different

country.

However in that country, They don't really have any shops like London do. They have

"Factories" which have no heating or maybe even not proper electricity. The people

that make the clothes on your back, slave away hardly earing anything. Yet somehow

through darkness, they have managed to stay strong and keep going. And I find that

truly beautiful.

So I ask you. the reader. What would you do if you lived like them? The poorest of poor!

no warm blanket or hot milk at bedtime. You would not even be able to have a snack

to pass the time, while you sit down and watch television. You had no job and you

lived in the "Slums" your belly was never full, and you drank contaminated water.

And so you would learn to live without the solid matters of life. You would learn to

accept the cruelty of life and carry on. But how would you cope without your mobile

phones? and obsessive gaming on "CANDY CRUSH SAGA!!!" you would be stripped

bare of all your luxuries that you see as simple pleasures of daily life.

However its not just the poor who suffer in life. But the majority of people. Depending

on what situation they have been in, makes them stronger as a person. Now some

people would just think that a tough life has made them just " stronger as a person"

Don't forget a person is basically a skin, we class as a human. It is like a layer

which covers another layer of bones and internal matter. However when it comes

down to the fourth layer ( the brain in this instance) people don't think beyond that.

A wise Indian philosopher of meditation once said " The mind is like a lake" and this

is so true!!!!!  The majority of us only use half of our brain. However if we used the

other half we would realize that we are meant for so much more, other than getting

a basic life.

Meditation makes us travel to places, in our mind we never knew we had. HIPPY MIDGET RANT OF THE EVENING)

Keep going intill you achieve something.
Laugh.Live and cry but never give up and die.

What troubles us makes us stronger, in spirit. and as a person. Be nice to everyone because what is the point in being horrible? Be true to yourself and treat others how you would like to be treated.

Speak the truth and live to love and appreciate the world. You can eith...er run from your past or accept it and create a better future. Always be there for the people that need you. You may not be perfect but you have the potential to succeed at something you want to do.

Don't wear your heart on your sleeve. When people have earned your trust let them in. walk the path of life with them. and have fantastic moments along the way. But most of all never ever give up!!!!!
