Adios..

Adios..

A Poem by Arabdha

“Come with me”..beckons its  wisened  voice..

I look around..

There are the people I love..

Some I don’t see..

They all look at me..trying to tell me they are there..

I begin to answer..

But words fail me..

I cannot speak..

My pain is mine and it doesn’t heal..

“come with me..” it calls out again..

I look at it..sounded a fair game..

I had questions unanswered..

Of things unknown..

It told me I would meet my destination..

I look around again..

Wish I could tell I loved them all..

Wish the decision was mine to take..

Wish  things would have been easier..

But then it calls again..

Tells me what I loved was an illusion..

They who stand here..

Would mourn and forget..

..”Take my hand..I’m real”..it beckons again..

May be I should..

Fighting wasn’t worth the pain..

I look again..at my final seconds..

I see people..

I try to reach out..

I can’t..

“come..I’m your only option”.. it says..

I take one final look ..

then take its hand..

Its wish stands fulfilled..

I make my pact with death..

All things they say must come to an end, yet we fight it, keep it at bay for as long as we can dont we?.......Death is not a natural state for man or woman, then again war, famine and crielty are not natural either yet they happen dont they? lets just pray for a better tommorow...........sad poetry but worth reading

This is so true. We just hope and pray that when they die that they spend eternity in heaven. :)

Death is one the great mysteries. The poem gave me a surprise ending. I like how you wrote the poem. Allow the reader to follow along in the poem. No weakness in this poem. A very strong ending to a excellent poem. Thank you.

This is a very interesting suicide poem, it has an interesting perspective, and is both poignant and moving. I love the concept of presenting it as a dialog between the subject, and death itself, very original and engaging. It manages to avoid being morbid or self-pitying, which is unusual in this type of poetry, and has real depth in it. It is interesting that you portray Death almost as a seducer, one whose embrace we cannot resist. The poem is grim and intense, and this is added to by the feel and tone of tenderness with which the poem is delivered. This is really good writing and asks questions about our relationship with life and death, from an unusual perspective, which I like. How do we really view death, is it a punishment, a fear, a cure, or a comfort?

A very poignant and heartrending work...The ending's killer...It echoes on and on...

Our final moments can only be lived once and I hope it is peaceful and wonderful like this. It is hard saying good bye to someone and I always wondered what they felt, what they heard thought and so on, was it painful or was it more of a spiritual thing or a lonely thing. This was a great write but it also makes me remember some things long since hidden.

This is wonderful! (sigh) people just come and go. and when it's time for them to go, the loved ones that are left behind is like a barrel once filled with water but dried out. Emptiness filled them instead. This is life, after our chance of living in this world, it's then our time to go and bid goodbye... a very sad reality :(
