Lovers in silence

Lovers in silence

A Poem by Opeyemi Jide-Ojo

The dark calls in beauteous silence,
Vast deep expanses covering secrets-
The silence is most endearing,
Like a soul calling to her lover.
And I should answer, same spirit calling
One to another, and a certain love of the silence
Between us, silence of lovers shared-
The dark is most beautiful.
And I can only stare,
Take in this sacred moment, and
It should last a while,
Save me from this mundane system
For an awareness of the divine.
It speaks of youth, love of the free,
And age should not tell on her brows
Nor the son of time bow her low.
She spreads in pride, daughter of life-
Alas! For she is life herself,
And the love of all that lives....

Really beautiful. You are one of the poets that I can keep people intuned with your words and expression. Great Job!

This is beautiful - I'm actually speechless at how amazing this is. I think a lot of things can make our minds work but nothing as good as silence and darkness...
