Life Must Go On

Life Must Go On

A Poem by Draven

The trees stood tall in the valley,
Waters flowed from the mouth of the river
And the birds kissed sky with their songs.
Grass formed a flawless carpet upon the land,
The voices of nature's praise to the Lord
Rose up to meet His presence.

Then one day the clouds came,
Grey like an menacing veil
To cover and block out the sun.
War of man's spirit breathed fire which consumed the trees
And the grasses were eaten by flame.
Birds fell into the arms of the smoke that hugged their lungs,
Their songs became silent and death danced over the land.
Soon the praise too did sleep.

The Lord knew what He had to do,
The sacrifice He would have to make.
Life must go on....
