Loss Of A DaughterA Poem by Draven
I see you stand all alone in the meadow.
You cannot hear but I'm calling out your name. I feel the wind like your breath fall softly on my cheek. I can feel it all, even in these walls so cold. In the dawn I pray that you'll smile. I still recall when we danced with the trees. Now I lay beneath broken blue skies, bleeding black and red. I can do anything, but without you I lose my faith. It was just the two of us together, then I drove you away. I changed, but I'm too late. I lost my baby Rosalie. I feel the call of my old addiction. Feel the longing for a drink. With every sip I'd hurt, then hurt you too. I hurt Mommy too. I hurt you both till she was through. That's when I lost my faith - lost my faith, lost my way. It was just the two of us together, then I drove you away. I changed, but I'm too late. I lost my baby Rosalie. © 2014 DravenAuthor's Note
