The Brother I've BrokenA Poem by DravenI never meant to break you down. I'm always lost, but never found. I had to be the strongest one, but felt so weak when I was done.
*Even when you held me while I slept, even though you kept me from my death, I have only ever beat you down, I beat you down, Even when you stood there by my side, even though you tried to build my pride, I have only ever beat you down, I beat you down.
You never got the truth to see it wasn't you, but always me. I had to be the first to climb, but ended last with longest time.
*Even when you held me while I slept, even though you kept me from my death, I have only ever beat you down, I beat you down, Even when you stood there by my side, even though you tried to build my pride, I have only ever beat you down, I beat you down.
I'm bearing all of this guilt now. I feel it day by day. It's something that never fades.
*Even when you held me while I slept, even though you kept me from my death, I have only ever beat you down, I beat you down, Even when you stood there by my side, even though you tried to build my pride, I have only ever beat you down, I beat you down. © 2014 DravenAuthor's Note
