Why I WriteA Poem by DravenThis is why I became a writer.I write because God gave me a gift, the gift to become a god, for when I write I am a god. A god of madness, a god of love. A god of the world which I create with the words I spill onto the page.
I write because I have to, not for will or anything short of must. I write to make sense of that which makes no sense.
My pen is a sword to slash the throats of my foes, a weapon of destruction and woe. Yet, in its power, it is my lips against her lips, and my hand touching her back. I write to obtain the things I lack.
I write so that I don't bleed. I pour my soul into each word I speak, for if I had not done so all these years I would have died long ago, burried in a pool of tears.
I write because I love you, all of you, although I cannot say it. I write so one day I may change that. © 2013 DravenAuthor's Note
