City Of Glass

City Of Glass

A Poem by Draven

The buildings look so small from over here,

standing on the hill from far off.

The buildings gleam in the sunlight,

reflecting it with their metal and stone,

and the skyscrapers catch

the eyes of people for miles around.

I see nothing but glass,

a transparent evil made up of

coruption and tyrany

that holds the whole world

chained at its feet.

I can hear the screams of the children

as they are beat by drunken fathers,

and the cry of young girls

for the cruelty of their attackers.

The bombs bursting with smoke and lies

fills the very air we believe to be breathing.

Our world is not but a hollow shell.

you did complete justice with your thought. :) a very decent poem exposing the reality and truth about the hollow people of hollow cities.
A writer should always stand somewhere far on the hill and see things as it seems clear and obvious from there, you see the truth.
