No matter what we’ve been through

you’ve given me hope for something new

trying to dry all the tears that I’ve cried

dying to feel alive… again… inside.

 

Accepting the way I feel for you

has opened my eyes to a different view

no longer trapped in cracked mirrors

seeing facts a whole lot clearer.

 

A world apart stands a simple man

holding my heart within his hands

spilling the sand, we watch it scatter

love expand s--so nothing else matters.

 

When the madness of sadness starts to creep in

I’m stronger-no longer- do I have to pretend

fear fades with each breath that I take

shaking charades made by mistake.

 

Trust I feel and I share with you

kinship of friendship accrued and grew

we’ll get through each path we choose to pursue

these three words don't always spell disaster

I’ll be loving you and nothing... else... matters.

Oh , my Romanticism . Haven't seen this for a while. In fact is not very common around here (The cafe). The use of intense emotion as an authentic source of aesthetic experience, placing new emphasis on such emotions as apprehension, horror and terror, and awe. In this writing we find all of them. In fact this is probably the "darkest " writing I have ever read from you. I can only assume the reasons are clearly described in the writing so there is no need to put them on show. I really relate to the gesture of the writing. You standing at the top of the castle, bruised and battered emotionally , a storm coming, winds , grey skies falling upon you , your black cloak and the image of the sun at the distance in its reflection that person that will still be there for you until the bitter end.

Nothing else would matter.

Excellent poem! Too often we allow all the small insignificant things to cloud our mind and fail to realize the great thing we have before our eyes. Love is true, cruel, painful, yet is pure, kind, and awesome when we are with the one meant for "you". Very sweet description of a love that's true and your choice in song empathizes this good work.

I welcome critique and criticism. I actually look forward to it, as it is a means for improvement and shows that the reader actually CARES.. for this reason, I always try to offer the same in my reviews and know exactly of what you speak.. I have gotten many negative responses to my advice and it is disheartening to say the least.. I always highlight the positives to go with it, but some are only here for their ego, unfortunately.. respect and tact seem to be lacking these days in "informal" interactions and not sure exactly why that is.. there is always a constructive way to say something.. having said that, even in the most polite, encouraging critique, I have found those who find offense.. They just want "smoke blown" and superficial "ego stroking".. so while I agree with you, I also know that it doesn't matter sometimes..

I only treat others how I wish to be treated "The Golden Rule" is just how I was raised I believe technology has given kindness a back seat. No longer do they send representatives of a company to greet their customers personally thus creating distrust and feelings of disconnection. Families don't communicate at dinner anymore they text we have lost contact with eyes today and the eyes tell us many things about a person. At least that's what I feel.

I agree again to an extent... technology is counter-productive in certain instances, but for the most part is helpful.. The eyes makes it easier to see sincerity, intent, and "the soul", but a true "writer" can express just as well, if not better through their pen.. at least I like to think so.. and yes, should treat others with the respect that you would want..

Oh yea the writer can convey about any situation I was in no way referring to this but just the lack of personal involvement in so many situations for they even wage war with buttons and as anything technology is like penicillin it can cure one person but kill another I agree with what you say

the anonymity of the internet is part of that problem I think.. lack of personal connection.. gives way to more of the "ugliness" coming out in interactions.. lack of culpability... so in that aspect, I agree.. :)
