“Time is too slow for those who wait, too
swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those
who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.”
// Lies no longer disguised behind these eyes
seducing sighs…… shuffling surprise
love liberated, deliberately set free
flying high in the sky taking you with me. //
Your last stanza is out of this world, April! Sometimes we want to rewind time but we can't, we have to live in the now and accept it, mistakes and all. I agree with everything Ashira has said, we do have to remodel our wings to keep us flying high. I have missed you and reading this!
Gorgeous! xoxo

I admit, this is one of my favorites and am tickled that you enjoyed.. Yes, ma'am!.. exactly... acceptance isn't always easy, but we do what we can with what we have.. we just have to realize that we are stronger and more resilient than we give ourselves credit for!.. life is what we make it.. learning to fly myself.. but it is possible:)
((hugs)) my sassy sweet friend
so many obstacles to overcome in the game of love and we may lose ...but we need to find that spark again and reignite the burning flame of love...your poetry is quite lovely;

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the quote from one of my favourites at the beginning :) I think you went on to channel him on many levels, not that I wouldn't have known it was you...I'm pretty familiar with your style now, and what a style it is...the opening line is amazing, and I knew right where you were going from there...retracing, time, distance, obstacles, but ultimately love at the end of it all...this is a stunning piece April, and all too painfully palpable, but what beauty in these words :) ((hugs))

The first stanza portrays so well that feeling of love lost and the heart wrenching feeling of not being able to replace. Then the second talks of hope and a workaround, leading nicely into the third which to me is about the next stage, a fight for love. The fourth stanza is very positive, making a complete reversal.

Thank you Blue for this lovely, insightful review.. I appreciate it sir:)
Fantastic! Such nostalgia and melancholy here, captured perfectly! There is always that residual thing you mentioned, it could be old memories or whatever, but there's always something that lingers and you have shown that here. Great piece!
Ps: Love the quote, Oscar Wilde is one of my all tine favorites!

These lines in particular. They are a different universe within themselves. You are indeed a strong person both in life and poetry. Good stuff!

Loved this. The positivity didn't come off as overbearing, in fact I felt it was more of an undertone. It allows the reader to really take this work in and truly appreciate it deep down.

A deep yearning for true love, may be reminiscence or just a dream but whatever it is; its strong and powerful feeling straight out of a beautiful soul. Universe should not be far behind in its evil design to fulfill such wishes :) Thanks for inviting.
