~Liberating Wings Of Love~

~Liberating Wings Of Love~

A Poem by AprilRN1210
"

.........

"

“Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.

Oscar Wilde

Retracing the places you drew in my heart

embracing the spaces….. while miles apart

mind chases replacement…. erasing the pain

yet glacial traces… of… recognition remain.

Residual reminders find their way into musing

rewinding the clock gets rather confusing

ticking of time assigns………. it’s time to try

redesigning these…. pretty wings… to fly.

Yearning, learning….. the game… in order to play

fighting despite obstacles in the way

trials and tribulations linger….. a while

stylishly stamping…… revamping a smile.

Lies no longer disguised behind these eyes

seducing sighs…… shuffling surprise

love liberated, deliberately set free

flying high in the sky taking you with me.

Your last stanza is out of this world, April! Sometimes we want to rewind time but we can't, we have to live in the now and accept it, mistakes and all. I agree with everything Ashira has said, we do have to remodel our wings to keep us flying high. I have missed you and reading this!

Gorgeous! xoxo

stupid site ate my dang words... grrrr. I said, I am tickled that you enjoyed it.....
“Love is what moves the world, I've always thought. It is the only thing which allows men and women to stand in a world where gravity always seems to want to pull them down, bring them low, and make them crawl.” I don't recall who said that, but I was instantly reminded of the quote.

Love can destroy us sometimes, but without it, we're broken.
It's the light in our little, dark world - and It's always worth fighting for.

A wonderful poem, April.

Another fantastic piece. They just keep getting better and better. That quote from Oscar Wilde sets the mood for the awesome array of words that follow. The flow is perfect. The lines :

Yearning, learning….. the game… in order to play
fighting despite…… obstacles…… in the way

trials and tribulations linger….. a while
stylishly stamping…… revamping a smile.

remind me of this quote - "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. - Confucius ". Yes, we face obstacles while time ticks our lives away, we fail several times but we must keep going. We must believe that one day this stubbornness/persistence will indeed give us what we want.

My pleasure
I found myself in a discussion yesterday about this very topic. I don't often get the chance to wax philosophical but I did yesterday and to read this today just blows my mind. Time, relativity, love, liberation. All things so fundamentally related to each other. What a wonderfully pleasing read April. Phenomenal

You're always welcome.
What a wonderful Wilde quote inspired this poem! Love makes us move mountains and climb them...but in the end it is always worth it. Yes, love is liberating...no doubt about it. Time....so precious and as Einstein taught us, so relative. I enjoyed your poem, April. Lydi***
