A Poem by April Child

It’s just a kiss

on a text message.

It doesn’t mean anything

like..

I can’t get you out of my head,

I’m having weird daydreams about “us”,

I’ve got butterflies and

my butterflies have got butterflies.

It’s just a kiss.

'my butterflies have got butterflies'..:) That made me smile..a lot.
It's indeed a beautiful feeling when you find a poet giving word to a certain feeling or state of mind in their own way, something you had wanted to name..point out in the past, but now you know what to call it. So yeah I have felt 'butterflies within butterflies too..:)

I was drawn to this because of the title. I too wrote a poem called 'X' several years ago (not posted on this site), but the content is somewhat different from yours. Mine was basically about my ex-wife, although X stands for several things in my poem. But back to your poem: very nicely expressed, in a delightfully understated way. X can stand for almost anything, and here it certainly stands for much more than a text message kiss. Well penned! ~ Robert.

The x's can be so important sometimes for girls in a message. :P you sum it up how we worry over some x's and think about them too much perfectly.

'...It's just a kiss.' Wise. The longing for more? Greatful for truth? Yes, yes.
Enjoyed reading "X". Good work~ pat

That's sweet. This poem is refreshingly innocent with underlying tones of a deeper passion. It's simply a joy to read--I loved it :)

Kissing is the most intimate thing you can do, and we know how one thing leads to another... I like the humor injected into the sweet sentiment you expressed.
