Amoebic JellyA Poem by April ChildThunder rumbles, steamy rain showers, air clings thick and sticky. Music drifts in above the storm, fresh as an incoming tide, washes over my feet, licks up my body til I am engulfed in your bi-polar beats. Feathery notes blow in on cool breeze, fanning curves, to tingle and tease fluttery wafts flirt down my back to pool and pulse at base of spine. Strings stroke my ears, lyrics lilt, swell and crash, I’m drenched in bursts of watery spray, you play me like a human bongo drip drip dripping relentless riffs onto skin and I flip, convulse and writhe in rhythmic spasm like a dying fish as you reduce me to a quivering mass of Amoebic jelly. Tempo drops, reality dawns with the feeling I’ve taken part in some kind of orgy. Weaving my way through dancefloor casualties I look back over shoulder, with eyes that say... “Same time next week?”. © 2010 April ChildFeatured ReviewReviews
