The Little Things

The Little Things

A Poem by April Child
"

Someone asked me about the "little things"...

"

are

the things you do that show

you’re thinking of someone,

know what will make them

smile, feel loved, special.

It’s a look that says

“I understand”,

a touch, a gesture,

putting yourself out,

being connected.

Picking daisies and

putting them in an egg cup.

"putting yourself out,
being connected."

That's really what it's all about, and what there really isn't enough of in this world.

I think everyone wants and needs to feel a little bit special from time to time.

I love the gentle feel of this piece, the way the warmth it created seeped through my thoughts and the way a smile came to my lips when I read it. It's very well done.

Simple, profound and well written. I felt a wave of emotion on this one...and the ending is unexpected, abrupt, sharp, and works really well i think.

My wife is bringing home her favorite cookies. Make her content. Poem is beautiful and with wisdom. True love is caring and doing what is needed to please the one we love. A outstanding poem.

What a tender, beautiful write... You show that little gestures can speak so loudly of the kindness and love of the heart. Wonderful, vivid piece!
