Long Necked Elegance

Long Necked Elegance

A Poem by April Child
"

What kind of bird would you be?

"

If we were birds

we would be swans

long necked elegance

gliding on the tide

stealing sideways glances

filling up with awe

unshakeable confidence

the slightest air of arrogance

that comes with knowing

you have found

a lifetime confidante

This is a very soothing illustration... your words are as graceful and elegant as the swans themselves and are very befitting, conforming to the scene. A felicitous portrayal of that "unshakeable confidence, the slightest air of arrogance, that comes with knowing you have found a lifetime confidante"... very refreshing... and reassuring, creating a rhythm of its own. *raising a toast*... long live the swan!

Beautifully done, this is the type of intriguing depth that captivates the heart in essence,
beyond romance, your words speak of life, unconditional love and longing, the meanig allows one
to ponder such aspects of our own lives, hence.. "What kind of bird would you be?" ..in other
words, "what kind of person are you?"...brilliantly conceptualized and peaceful reading

In my younger day,s employers asked me if I was reincarnated ,what type of animal would I want to come back as, and I replied an eagle. For the same reasons you beautifully incorporated in this lovely piece. Thank you for reminding

Very nice poem you have here, it is elegant and its meaning is deep but graspable. As for me, I would be an Osprey.
