Love RestoredA Poem by April ChildA response to Murphs Love Restored. His words are in the black type and mine follow in greyI built a fortress to shield my hopes to protect my chivalrous dreams I happened on a towering wall that reached so high it blocked the light Yet this work of my hands contained a slight breach and was not as strong as it seemed Rough and cold I traced its face my fingers found a tiny chink For in the blink of an eye and with quivering lips my defenses were conquered for sure I put my mouth to that weak place eyes closed I blew a breathy kiss As my still beating heart in a big puddle lay on this day that love was restored And with a sigh and gentle tremor that wall did crumble into dust © 2009 April ChildReviews
