Love Bites

Love Bites

A Poem by April Child
"

Distracted and I find myself doodling with words.... here is a collection of doodles....

"

My fingers stroke the

letters you carved

in the oak tree.

In my mind its

not my name

my fingers trace

but your face.

    .........

If you asked me

how many times

I thought of  you

today I would have

to say just once.

One long thought

from the moment

I opened my eyes.

     ..........

Leaning my head on

the cool glass, gazing

out at falling

snowflakes my breath

mists the window

and I write your

name in the fog.

Are we missing somebody????
Doodling for sure...a part from the leaning ur head on the cool glass gazing out at the falling snow flakes. If it's wait, it'll soon be over. If it's a longing, then perhaps the fog would stay for a long time, and if it's a mist of loss, it's time to move on. Very few would take a chance on someone who's gone.
Well, that was quite poignant. :)))

Gorgeous!!!! I can't say enough about this piece that I stumbled upon, that everyone else has already said. I loved all three! They all have such a power and depth, yet so short; which means each word has to have a purpose, and they truly do! This was a great piece of writing April!

Wow April you doodled that one right across my heart.
Our doodling probably reveals more than the words we take time to write about.

Very sweet!

I really like how the fist verse is in darker letters than the rest of the poem. it felt like it was your physical self drawing his face, while the rest was internal you speaking out loud. in any case I like this one for the strong heart felt of missing someone you love! excellent April

beautiful, sad but your point comes across clearly. You have managed to squeeze a lot of feeling into a small spot. :)

Aw, this was a sweet and sad poem. I love those types, because they remind me of singers that sing heartfelt acapellas. Sweet probably isn't the right word, but I usually that's the first word that pups up in my mind when I think of soft-sorrowed voices. Yeah. Nice write, and thanks for entering my contest.
