![]() Canine ElvisA Poem by April Child![]() A poem about a very special dog indeed![]() Twitching lips curl up to reveal teeth restless legs canine Elvis Fruit bat ears one up, one down which he never quite seemed to grow into I reach out to stroke Monty dog shiny and black lying limp beside me one eye lazily opens inner lid remains at half mast Listless lump stirs slumbering lumbering his warm furry form nestling against me drops his head on my neck and there we lie entwined like lovers he smacks his lips lets out a sigh and snores softly in my ear © 2009 April ChildReviews
