Kaleidoscope TattooA Poem by April ChildA Love StoryIt was hot today, so hot that everything had to be dropped in order to get away to the beach, well this is the UK and who knows how long the sun is here for The beach was covered in jellyfish strange alien looking creatures something like frisbees made of jelly only these jellies had no wobble they looked kind of sad frying and drying on the pebbles I couldn’t tell if they were dead or alive so got up close to one and peered all squinty eyed in the sun I have seen jellyfish before but none quite like these with their strange markings brown on clear concentric circular patterns precise and infinite cosmic diagrams a natural mandala Or maybe not my partner urged caution and I pulled away what if they were not jellyfish but strange alien beings and the beautiful kaleidoscopic tattoo was merely a trap I pulled away and turned to him If one of these creatures wraps itself around my face and melts me ugly with its acid jelly will you still love me? He thought for a moment and said “I’ll put one on my face too” April Child 3 July 2015 © 2015 April ChildReviews
