A Staunch Contrast

A Staunch Contrast

A Poem by Jordan Harpter
"

How should society look?

"
What a staunch contrast between what I see as what should be, and what reality actually is. I perceive the elite should be as peasants, or simply all peasants, elite. That these rolling green mountains should mate and be reproduced in the desolate lands of dust. From my perch I see wealth and natural beauty, but in the land beyond my eyes pictures of death, poverty, dust echo in repetitive cycles. Justice and reality may perhaps be worlds apart, perhaps. Despite all of that, I know God wants justice and reality to become one flesh to create the one thing all of eternity cries for, Heaven.
