Only A Year Ago

Only A Year Ago

A Poem by Vincent
"

boredom, it was spontaneous. if you don't get it, or it doesn't make sense, it's okay. i'm just laying out the inner workings of my mind.

"

Only a distant fading memory...
victories of ages past,
the times of brotherhood and chivalry
diluted, standing by aghast;
the glare of innocent twilight
illuminates the corners eerily;
yet we dare not venture tonight.
Maybe we've grown out, a little weary
of youthful excitements,
indulgences, and enticements.
The old days, they elude me;
the days of what we should still be
but aren't; look forward, for
tomorrow isn't in lingering footsteps.
Erelong, we should partake the poor
in another adventure we've not kept,
lest we should mistake anyone else
for less than a childish fool...
