fade to blackA Poem by Apple NewhouseA poem I wrote for those innocent who were murdered in the burning times. What I invision as being the last thoughts.Hearing the crowds cheer on,and taunt. walking up being pushed while shivering in fear and betrayal no last thoughts only the pain, anger, fear and tears running down. claimed guilty of a uncommited crime. the only thoughts in the right mind is the fear shaking through the body as the ropes tied around bring a feeling of final loss of freedom. Then splintered planks poke at the bare feet as the hay sticks up through the cracks in the planks. The fires are light, the heat of the flames is felt before even touching the wooden deck. Last look to the taunting crowds, last look up to the sky. The flames grow hotter and spread. The only vision is thick smoke and flames. no longer can breathe, suffication of smothering pillow fade to black.
