EXPLOSIVLY POWERFUL... the way you personified arrogance, modesty, shadow, and love... *snap snap
apollonia, i gotta say 1 thing. This is my favorite poem i've ever read from you!
from the beginning word to the final syllable, this is a TRUE masterpiece.
One of the most unique ways i've read or seen to protray the desire for ones lover.
The imagery in this one is quite taking. I could easily see two lovers laying beneath a live oak tree somewhere and sometime in the old south. The pictures your poem created in my mind looked as if they were filmed in old sepia tone, adding an almost dreamlike and nostalgic side to this. I hesitate to call it gothic, but there are many such undertones. Overall most enjoyable and worthy of re-reading.

This is beautiful..simply beautiful! The imagery is just awesome and the flow indeed has been maintained so perfectly throughout the writing...
I found it intriguing at few places and sad too....or I should write "Beautifully sad"

This is a beautiful job. Very atmospheric. It strides in an ethereal place above the more immediate urgencies of love, passion, and love making. It seems to be love in a conceptual, or abstract form, at least to me. It is also very erotic in an understated way. 'As modesty seduces' is the pivotal part of this classy poem for me.
