The Fading of Colors

The Fading of Colors

A Poem by TamiViolet
"

inspired during one of my sleepless nights

"

I once heard someone say that 'love humiliates and hatred cradles,' and my
heart sometimes begs for release, for many times I have loved so deeply,
so profoundly only to discover myself flying with butterfly wings

through the pounding rain.

Where are you, my love?

My blue jeans have faded to white, revealing patches of skin, abrasive from
falling so many times and bruising

my SOUL.

Where is the happily ever after that my mother promised me as a child?

Where is that big, strong man who would be waiting...

just for me?

So once again I close my blinds to avoid the arrogance of the sun and view
the withered leaves that surround my feet.  As the tears trickle down my
swollen cheeks and onto this paper, I breathe deeply, gathering the gloom
and wallowing in another day of useless energy, waltzing from too much
wine because life doesn't hurt as much...

at least for the moment.

I drift into repose and awaken with a fluttering heart...gasping for air, and
I know that there is nothing diabolical about me.  I lack the capacity for
hatred and although the color has been removed from my sight...

I know...

It's just around the corner...

How well you capture the ache and frustration of failed love. I thought the form of this writing was interesting - a kind of meditation... The image of the jeans worked well and the photos were a pleasing enhancement to the cri de coeur carried in the words

I relate to your poem, to the passion, to the longing and the wanting. It seems to happen to some but be elusive to most of us. Don't let your heart die but keep searching.

Graceful resurrection of faith in elusive love, lusciously illustrated. Travails of the soul deepen the true heart.

A amazing poem. I like the flow of thoughts and the desire in the poem. Photos gave life to the outstanding poetry.

Such a beautiful poem . A world without color. Seems in a way that is how the world is and can be when there is no love.

The poem is very descriptive. The jeans and arrogant sun!

I enjoyed this it is makes me wonder... where is the happy ending ?
Maybe I will write my happy ending.

I sometimes wonder and then I wander, knowing what a sad but beautiful heart you have, always wishing color will come back into your life, a life where two can share that bottle of vino. This is outstanding.

we lose sight of the color of life, we wander sleepless looking for big dreams, you've written it all so beautifully, we walk the same walk together

Your writing has such a complex, beautiful, rich flow and form. Thoughts that come to life and move through the reader with amazing emotion. This is another absolutely wondrous piece.

Another amazing write, sad to the point that is brought tears to my eyes, yet at the very end "I lack the capacity for hatred.........I know...It's just around the corner", what an ending. A powerful, beautiful piece. Again with amazing pictures and imagery. Inspiring.... I can't wait to read more. Bravo! ;)
