I live in an Empty cell,
Lost in my thoughts.
My mind races in images of which I was,
Will I return to the world intact and new?
Or damaged as I once was.
The bare space I once filled with Joy and Hope,
Now Vacant and Disgraced.
The skeletons you hide,
Now I wear on my chest.
Nothing private or kept secret.
Just public disgrace and misery.
I remain burned and scarred from the lies you told.
The essence of who you are smolders my mind, stopping me from blinking your memory away.
Burning searing water upon my skin is the only reminder that I am still alive.
Wanting to scratch my skin raw, in hopes that every remnant of you would be gone.
I know life is better outside this tormented chamber,
But I stay away from you and the world that you have affected and ruined.
Waiting for the day that
I will walk,
Not run.
Laugh,
Not Quiver.
And grow into the man that will no longer wear your shame.
