Love Crimes

Love Crimes

A Poem by APoetsMuse
"

cheating, break up, love

"

I didn't suspect because you hid the cracks,
I left you alone hoping you would come back.
I played it cool so you would see the truth,
but you cheated and I found the proof.

I always wondered why you left me crying,
and then I realized you were lying.
Funny how you always disappeared when you were needed,
the hugs and kisses stopped when I was greeted.

The long baths while on the phone,
I can now see what you don't show.
The text you get that makes you smile,
getting all giddy like an infant child.

It’s hard to believe that you would be this way,
to sneak around so you can kiss and play.
To attend parties as another’s plus one,
arriving home drunk as the moon meets the sun.

Now you smile and pretend to make it right,
but in the end you're going to lose this fight.
Cause now I can see pass your seductive charm,
I pull from my emotions that you have harmed.

I still can't believe I did so much for you,
while you drained my spirit of all that was true.
I never was the man that your heart truly wanted,
I should have known from the lies that you started.

Now I back off because I’m better off alone,
giving you more respect then you have ever shown.
It’s hard to believe I ever fell for you,
sad to know I truly adored you.

From this point on I will never look back,
no more rides on my sexual Cadillac.
And in the end; it will not be me you find,
as you huddle alone from all your love crimes.
