Just Friends

A Poem by APoetsMuse
"

a friend wanting more

"

What we once had is now in the past,
From the beginning it wasn’t meant to last.
So we tried to remain as close as friends,
But now that truth you want to bend.
You want to turn us into some sexual thing,
To see each other and start a casual fling.
But what I said was real,
My heart you will never steal.
Who I’m with now, I love with all my being,
I get such a high, just from this feeling.
But that is something you want to change,
You keep trying to spark a flame.
A flame that has burned out and dried,
I wont give in to your sympathy cries.
I will no longer feel bad because you are alone,
I’m not going to give in and throw you a bone.
I feel you trying to work your game on me,
Hoping in the end it will be you I see.
But you aren’t and never will be my soul mate,
So please stop asking me to go on dates.
A friendship is all I can offer you,
Cause in my heart I need to be true.
So what will it take for you to understand?
That no matter what I wont give in to your plan.

I really liked this.

It was very easy to relate to...

I also loved how some sentences rhymed while others didn't.

Wonderful job. :]

Always,
