break up

That very day, a little bit of your heart died,
I didn’t mean to hurt you. I really tried.
You got mad at me when I said I was dating,
Because this whole time you've been there waiting.
You hoped that some day things would change and I would want you back,
But when I think of you I’m reminded of the things you still lack.
Patience and trust are what I wanted,
So far your pushy ways are all you flaunted.
I said 'I like you, but lets take it slow',
But you wanted more, rushing the flow.
I tried so hard to be your friend,
Tried to take your heart and help it mend.
And still that wasn’t enough,
So I had to called your bluff.
I told you I moved on and you curse me out,
Reminding me you weren’t the one, without a doubt.
You said you would be there through it all,
But a life with you I never saw.
I’m sorry I broke it off with you,
But if we were together would I be true?
You saw our lives together forever,
I saw the distance as stormy weather.
I wanted your friendship in the end,
You said you understood the things I said.
But you held hope for another day,
Leaving me with words I didn’t want to say.
So after many arguments and many pleas,
I let you go, I set you free.

wow that is really good. its easy to relate to and people who read this will think of a hard breakup they went through which i think is a good way of reaching out to your readers. It helps them understand your feelings better. But anyways well done.
