break up, doubt, tears

So many times you made me feel guilty,
All the blame was placed on me.
But it was you, who chose to walk out,
From day one I should have had my doubts.
You tried to play this cheating game,
When the rules were always the same.
Yet you slipped and fumbled,
An act that should have humbled.
You opened up my box of fears,
But for you it was just my hopeless tears.
I did everything you asked me to,
Yet nothing you said was ever true.
I gave you all that I could give,
I deserve something more then this.
I use to think what we had was real,
Yet it was a feeling any guy could steal.
Now you try to be my friend,
This gesture you give doesn't mend.
You made your bed now lay in it,
Cause from day one I should have quit.
So stay far away from my mind,
Something I hope will heal with time.
And just like a ghost from my past,
You say you want me. You want me back.

I, too, love the rhyme scheme that you used in this poem. Yet, to me, it is not really simple. I believe that you took great care in creating this piece, and it truly shows beautifully. WOW!

I also particularly love the subject matter here. I was once told by my father that "You just can't be nice to some people." I have unfortunately found his words to be true on a few occasions. I want to believe that all people are good at heart, but I have learned that some people are driven to be mean. Their hatred within controls them. It's sad. :o(
