In Her Eyes, Through Mine

In Her Eyes, Through Mine

A Poem by Apebble

She’s beauty

In the moment

But I’m not enough

In her eyes

Through my eyes

She’s the hope

In what I used to say

But all my words

Fall short

This twisted little story,

It’s all made up

In my mind

It’s the part where it

No one plays along

Can’t keep up,

Just goes wrong.

It’s the same tale told

Every year, Not of love,

Just of fear

One little boy, All alone

Watching life, in her eyes

From his eyes

The script penned by her name,

But every word is mine

A romance gone tragedy,

And she’s to blame, not me.

Or is it me?

If only her story

Would match up

Line by line, to mine

One written by her

Own two hands,

Not remiss, by mine
