MATH - Mental Abuse To Humans

A humorous love poem using math terminology.

You and I are an ordered pair,

Joined by parentheses and a comma,

But we represent much more-

A point on life's parabola

We're like the square root of 4,

Where one plus one equals us.

When you and I are together,

We never subtract, only plus.

But if you were to go away,

The distance divided by how fast you leave,

Would make my time be slower

Than numbers could believe

If someone you love is subtracted,

No longer to be by your side,

Separated indefinitely by equality,

In the ever growing divide

You become the constant,

In a complex equation

Where 'X' equals pain,

And the answer is no solution

Take me by the hand,

Erase our problems away,

We'll subtract all the pain,

And multiply our love by the day
