Ten Seconds

Ten Seconds

A Poem by Apebble
"

A descriptive look about how time dies and flies.

"

Ten seconds fighting to survive,

One passes in a moment,

Never to be revived

Nine seconds dancing to a song,

One dies as the clock strikes anew,

One of ten, but didn't last very long

Eight seconds pounding to the drum,

One darts away, joining the past two

As the clock strikes slightly past one

Seven seconds singing to the music

One fades into the forest,

Six now remain, take your pick

Four seconds gone, now 6 remain

But now another has left

Only five more seconds left of pain

Five seconds wondering which will go,

Looking at each other wond'ring,

Number 5 was the next to pass, little did they know

Four seconds hiding in the corner,

With number four falling into the past,

Once in the moment, he is now the former

Three seconds left on the clock,

The third flees away for safety,

Leaving two left in the stock

Two seconds still, from the ten he had

One cries himself to sleep,

But the second never woke again

One second standing, screaming in his heart,

Another moment passes by,

And the time ends, as sure as it did start
