Apprehensive Love Letter

Apprehensive Love Letter

A Poem by Apebble
"

Most know the feel of liking a person you'v known for years, and not knowing if they like you the same way. The problem is, if they don't like you the same way, the friendship may be gone...

"

With every step I take,

I move back five,

So scared, so cautious

With you on my mind

I don't want this to break,

This friendship we now have,

But I want so much more,

But am scared you won't see that

Every time I try and tell you,

Just how I feel,

Life rears its roaring head,

Why is always so loud?

Am I sworn to secrecy,

By my own love of now,

Will you ever know,

Will my courage ever be found?

Four years I've known you,

Three I have cared,

Two of which I loved,

One of which I feared.

Give me a sign,

Your cryptic message can't be read

Show me that you care

And tell me you're still there

I love poetry. This is one of the reasons why. Such a powerful display of emotion. I was able to relate to it so well. You put me into the mind of the speaker and showed me their world. I love the poem. Thank you for a marvelous piece of literature
