Little Soldier

Little Soldier

A Poem by SilentVoice

Her eyes were raw red

As she walked towards the door,

Nothing was said

As blood trickled down her face...

She bled.

No one turned to stare

At the poor defenceless little girl,

No one thought anyone would harm a golden hair...

on her now beaten head.

Her mother didn't dare

stop him beat her,

Even though she knew it wasn't fair

she couldn't...

How devastating it is that people who do not deserve such harsh treatment are the ones to endure it while others watch. I like how you play this, reveal the girl to be picture perfect and innocent and one whom every sympathizes with yet nobody stands to prevent what they believe she does not deserve. Poignant and devastating, and upsetting that this unfortunately, actually happens. Well portrayed, if only more would help.
