Why I Joined The National Guard

I joined the Nebraska National Guard in hopes to get my life back on the right path. I dropped out of high school two months before the end of my junior year. The reason being I had just moved with my mom into Plattsmouth, Ne. When I moved the new school didn’t transfer my credits like they should have, and when I confronted them about it they wouldn’t do anything about it. The counselor basically told me he was right and I was wrong.  I stayed in school after that, but decided to drop out when the counselor kept following me and bothering me( even when I asked him not to do so). So I got my mom’s permission and dropped out. I went on a National Guard Website and started filling out information, and then my recruiter contacted me. He helped me get an ID and enrolled me in Patriot Academy. I hope to earn my High School Diploma and better myself while I’m here. Hopefully I’ll finish my diploma courses and be able to begin taking college courses so that I’m ahead when I get home. The Education, both civilian and military, I receive here will help me become a better soldier and person.
