Banking has been around for a long time, and has, for the most part, stayed the same. The technology and equipment used has changed, but the structure of how banking functions, has remain almost unchanged, until online banking came about. Online banking allows the patron to access and control his funds with the click of a mouse. The patron may check their balances, apply for loans and transfer his funds without having to go to the local branch of their bank. They could do all of that from the comfort of their home.

                Online banking will make it easier to use banking services, especially in the busy day to day lives of people today. Instead of having to drive to the nearest branch of their bank, they can just login to the online banking service and check balances, transfer funds, apply for loans, and more. Making it much easier to keep track of, and control, their funds. With the use of an ATM, Automated Teller Machine, a phone, and online banking, the patron may never have to set foot inside a traditional bank. But is online banking safe?

                Online banking is about as secure as using a traditional bank. They make use of many different security measures to make the financial information they hold secure. They make use of data encryption and various other forms of login protection. In order to login to some online banking services you will have to know your user ID, password, secret answer to a personal question, and set up a picture to verify that the patron is logging into the correct site and account.

                Online banking includes the ability to use a few of the services that are used by traditional banks. A couple of these services are the ability to pay your bills online, and to apply for loans. That is on top of the ability to transfer funds, and check your balances. You will be required to have an account with the bank before being able to have access to the online banking services.

                I enjoy banking with SAC Federal Credit Union. They help me as soon as I request it. They also have online banking, which allows me to keep track of my funds. If I would like to, I could pay bills online as well as apply for loans. Being in the military, I find that having the privileges of online banking are extremely helpful.
