The Balance Within

Blood of the living,
Mixed with the darkness of souls.
The evil within
May not be vanquished.
The evil within
May not be controlled.
The evil within
dwells within every action.
The evil within
Escapes our souls.

Though the demons within us
Tend to escape.
We may control their
Passage out.
We control the demons within.
We control the evil within.
We control our own existence.
Through the lights we find
And let within.
The light we let in
helps control the evil within.

Where there is darkness
There exists light.
Where there is light
There exists darkness.
Through this balance of existence,
We control our own paths.

I like this topic: the good and bad in all. I like how you incorporate contrasting elements such as light and darkness,as well.

I like the flow of this poem. We all have good and bad in us. And i agree with how you say we can let that "evil" escape and how it escapes. Although it may be difficult to control it, it is possible.
