Silhouette

Silhouette

A Poem by Franchesca N.

I stood there, frozen,
As if time stopped flowing.
I can feel the world staring
Because its sharp eyes bruised me.
I stood there, frozen,
As I looked at you walk away.
With every step you take farther,
My heart breaks into a million pieces.
Now, you're too distant.
My heart's nothing more
But tiny specs of dust.
I stood there, frozen,
And I attempted to shout your name.
No sound came out.
My wounded soul'd the only one
Who heard that scream.
I tried to reach out for you,
But it was useless.
The more I try to go near you,
The more you go away.
There you go, you're only a silhouette from my view.
You're so far-- Way so far.
There was nothing more I could do
To get you back.
Nothing.
I kept on staring at your fading silhouette,
As I stood there, frozen.

This is great! Are you new? Surprised you don't have more reviews. The duality yet simplicity in this piece had me rereading it, nice!
