A tear to cryA Poem by Anusha PrabhuWith tears escaping my tired eyes, I carve my pain out in words For when the tears have parched away, Rhymes of pain, remain unheard. I lay there, on a bed of roses But I just feel the barbs Sewing past the lax petals And the strata of my heart. Give me back, what is mine. Give me back my rhythm divine Give me back a reason to smile Or take away, from me, this life Cherry-pick between love and mirth But never have them both For then there will be no ache No god to worship No kismet to fear No vengeance to suffice And no tear to cry. © 2015 Anusha Prabhu |
